The CBI is holding its conference, the great and good trooping in and out wringing their hands, Oh dear everybody hates us. I wonder why?
When nurses, teachers, and low paid government workers are having the threat of cuts to their pensions which they have already been paying in to. I am not talking about the top range of civil servants who get knighthoods and vast pension funds. No, these are the ordinary working guy and gals, the same people who are being laid off by the thousand, these are the ones who need help and support.
What are the CBI doing to help the economy?
Well the first thing they have done is to increas their salaries by 40%, all that extra spending they will be able to do, new Ferrari’s and BMW’s, all that money going on imports but they can afford it.
Then Sir Roger Carr stated that business should be valued not vilified. They must act responsibly, pay OURSELVES, govern OURSELVES and conduct OURSELVES correctly.
But isn’t this exactly the problem? When businesses have the power to do exactly what they want they become greedy and self-indulgent, there is no social aspect to business, it’s about making money, being greedy. People like that should not be allowed to control all their own actions, Tax avoidance is their main concern, living in the Cayman Islands, Barbados or Monte Carlo.
The other Question that needs to be asked at this moment is where is the Labour Party? ‘what are you doing Mr Miliband? why are you not attacking? instead of just sitting back and being selective in your support, this is not the right way to be in opposition.
Criticise every Government policy, if the Conservative back benchers revolt, abstain or vote with them. Your job is to bring down this Government, attack! attack! not to be polite and courteous. It does not matter if you get it wrong occasionally, but you must be seen to be active. Come on, start making a nuisance of yourself, because if you carry on like this you will not be the leader for much longer.
