My Word Is My ?????

One thing that the crisis in the Ukraine has highlighted is the Russian Federations view of it’s neighbours who share it’s borders. It is as though they are part of Russia and therefore Russia can define their Foreign Policy position.

It also shows the mind set of Putin. A man who is clearly quite happy to lie openly on the world stage regarding the use of military forces in a foreign country.  And that any agreement with Russia be it a foreign treaty or an economic agreement is not worth the paper it is written on.  It also shows that a governments word can no longer have any worth.

When you study the actions and words of KGB trained Putin, the place to look at for a comparison is North Korea. That country was established by Beria, (Stalins murderer and head of the NKVD the forerunner of the KGB) they are unreliable and you certainly cannot sign a treaty with them and expect them to keep to it.

So in future the world will be dealing with Kim John Putin and he is not a little boy with little military toys but a full atomic arsenal at his finger tips, and he can press those buttons!  Remember Putin is an old style bully, tyrant and liar. Which means…. YOU CANNOT TRUST HIM AT ALL!

About michaeldouglasbosc

I am retired and live with my wife on a small olive finca in the middle of a forest in the mountains of Spain in Catalonya. I served 9years in the armed services, am an engineer and because of my love of navy sailing ships a naval historian of the 1700-1800's, plus the author of 10 books. When I retired I started writing adult books my first being A Soldiers Wind. Then came Stanley's story again adult books such was his life. Another book on life in the 1950's this very much an adult book. I have now returned to my love of the sea and my latest navy book 'A Plymouth Story' follows the life of Dr James Blackstock. But Clearing In The Forest is an historical fantasy set in the middle ages at the end of King Johns reign. All the books are published on Kindle and Create a Space in paperback. I have worked all my life and for relaxation I sailed a coastal yacht for many years, but deep inside me was a writer waiting to get out. So when I retired I started writing I find story telling both relaxing and - for me - a pleasure.

All treaties are not worth the paper they are printed on, but for the good faith of all involved. When it suits a country to break it and they can get away with it, they will. Russia is not the exception, it is a mere example of the rule.
