F 1 2036

Oh such Danger I am scared!

Welcome  to the new Formula I season. On April the first we start with the traditional race around Ayers Rock but first an interview with the reigning world champion Li Chen from Shanghai, the twelve-year-old Chinese Vunderkind in his fourth year of F1 and three world championships under his belt.

“Hello Li great to see you.”

“Thank you Martin Brundle  iv.”

“It’s Martin Brundle 111 actually the cloning didn’t work well last time.”

“Sorry to hear that Martin Brundle 111.”

“Your mother must be very pleased with your record last year thirty-six straight  wins.”

“I was very lucky in a couple of races but my experience in grand theft auto twenty-eight stood me in great stead.”

“What was the main reason for you becoming a Formula 1 driver Li.”

“Mother said it’s record as the safest sport on the planet plus the vast sums of money that she would look after for me made it an obvious choice. Also  I didn’t have to get out of bed so she could feed me crispy duck while I drove.”

“You have great skill Li.”

“Thank you, it was an inspired decision by Bernie Ecclestone  Vll  to implement drones into Formula 1 thirty years ago to make sure drivers did not get injured. Since that momentous day not one driver has  suffered any form of injury although Vladimir Killick fell out of bed last year and bruised his toe.”

“It is a great record Li and we should all be proud of our record, it was a shame about Billy Prescott twelve years ago.”

“Yes but I can understand his anger, his team not allowing his mother to change his nappy. Perhaps it was an over reaction for him to drive his drone straight into the garage at 200 mph killing all the technical support staff but I thought Bernie Ecclestone  lX’s  decision to call it a technical mishap was inspired after all I would not like another woman changing my nappies, remember Martin Brundle 111 a mother is a boys best friend.”

“Absolutely Li and on that basis your great rival Levi Godinsky from Tel Aviv is eight this year, and coming into his prime. You know Jewish mothers really love their sons, and there is a rumour going around he is at least fifteen stone she feeds him constantly and he has such nimble fingers.”

“True Martin Brundle 111  but every mother in this sport loves their little boys and keeps them wrapped in cotton wool. I cannot believe that drivers actually had to get into their cars years ago. The very thought repels me and the danger involved, I could get scratched or something even worse it makes me feel so ill.  Thank you so much Bernie Ecclestone Vll for your inspired decision what a wonderful world of Formula 1 you have made, shame the clones don’t last very long.”

About michaeldouglasbosc

I am retired and live with my wife on a small olive finca in the middle of a forest in the mountains of Spain in Catalonya. I served 9years in the armed services, am an engineer and because of my love of navy sailing ships a naval historian of the 1700-1800's, plus the author of 10 books. When I retired I started writing adult books my first being A Soldiers Wind. Then came Stanley's story again adult books such was his life. Another book on life in the 1950's this very much an adult book. I have now returned to my love of the sea and my latest navy book 'A Plymouth Story' follows the life of Dr James Blackstock. But Clearing In The Forest is an historical fantasy set in the middle ages at the end of King Johns reign. All the books are published on Kindle and Create a Space in paperback. I have worked all my life and for relaxation I sailed a coastal yacht for many years, but deep inside me was a writer waiting to get out. So when I retired I started writing I find story telling both relaxing and - for me - a pleasure.
